This is Betsy. A familiar face in the Durham area, she is engaged in the community and passionate about providing access to quality legal services at a reasonable cost. Betsy began offering basic estate planning after meeting many fellow parents who did not have the resources to access legal representation to fulfill their estate planning needs. Betsy began going to their homes (to avoid the need for childcare), in the evening and on weekends (to avoid conflicting with work), to take care of her community - one family at a time. She continues to serve the community with basic estate planning, though now the meetings are held virtually and meets clients in person (outside, distanced and masked) at their signing parties! If the topic is outside of Betsy's practice areas, she always offers referrals and other resources to ensure each individual receives the legal care they seek. Betsy is an approachable resource, whom you can reach directly via our page "Contact."

I love my job!!  Here I am, in my own version of practicing law, at my client's home, with her sweet daughter helping me with the "stamping" in the notarizing of her family's documents. When her mother needed these documents in an emergency a few months later, she just grabbed her Legacy Binder and walked out the door.  She told me it was the most relieving feeling to know she had what she needed and was prepared.

I raised approximately $3,000 for St. Baldrick's in 2013 to support cancer research... and all it took was a little hair and support from my wonderful community of friends and family.

Since 2014, I have actively raised money for the Durham YMCAs!  I am passionate about serving people, and believe strongly in the important work of the YMCA – from scholastic learning centers to summer camps, diabetes prevention programs to mobility classes, from youth to seniors, the YMCA truly serves ALL.

I found that I love triathlons and while I'm not a competitor, I love to compete with myself - so I have done four 70.3 half-ironman distance events and loved the challenge of the training and the event!

GI Jane?  Nope, that's me too, participating in a 2013 Spartan race.  It was cold (a winter weather advisory in March!), muddy and tough.  I competed with a group of friends who are still like sisters to me, but we now prefer to gather for "wine & whine" nights.

And of course, on top of it all, I’m a rock-star mom, complete with rock-star hair to match my kid on his preschool field trip!
